TALEGGIO CHEESE ON TOAST WITH A TOMATO AND HERB SALSA
Ingredients
- 2 slices white bread
- 85g/3oz taleggio cheese
- sliced
- 2 vine tomatoes
- de-seeded and chopped
- 1 clove garlic
- finely chopped
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 handful fresh basil leaves
- torn
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
- For the cheese on toast
- toast the bread in the oven for 3-4 minutes
- or until lightly golden. Lay the slices of cheese on top of the toast then grill for 2-3 minutes
- or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- For the tomato and herb salsa
- combine all of the salsa ingredients together in a bowl and mix well to combine.
- To serve
- place the cheese on toast on a serving plate and spoon over the tomato and herb salsa.
