PEARS POACHED IN RED WINE
Ingredients
- 200ml/7fl oz red wine
- 50g/1¾oz brown sugar
- 2 whole star anise
- 1 pear
- peeled
- 3 tbsp Greek yoghurt
- to serve
Directions
- In a pan heat together the red wine
- sugar and star anise until gently simmering.
- Add the pear and poach for 5-10 minutes
- turning occasionally
- until tender.
- To serve
- place the pear into a bowl with the cooking liquor and Greek yoghurt spooned alongside.
