FIGS WRAPPED WITH CRISPY BACON
FIGS WRAPPED WITH CRISPY BACON

Ingredients
  • 3 figs
  • 50g/3½oz Camembert
  • cut into 3 pieces
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 3 rashers streaky bacon
Directions
  • Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6.
  • Make a criss-cross in the top of each fig
  • pinch the base to expand the opening at the top
  • and stuff each with a Camembert piece. Season
  • to taste
  • with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Heat the butter in a small ovenproof frying pan and fry the figs for one minute. Place the pan into the oven and roast for six minutes
  • or until the cheeseis melted and golden.
  • In a separate pan
  • fry the bacon on both sides for 4-5 minutes
  • or until crisp. Remove the figs from the oven and wrap each one with a rasher of bacon.
  • To serve
  • place the bacon-wrapped figs onto a plate.
