HONEY AND SESAME BEEF SKEWERS WITH BALSAMIC GLAZED CHICORY
Ingredients
- 150g/5½oz sirloin steak
- sliced into 1cm/¼in strips
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- wooden skewers
- 1 tbsp clear honey
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 head chicory
- halved
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- sprig fresh chervil
- to garnish
Directions
- For the beef skewers
- place the steak in a small bowl
- drizzle with the olive oil and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Thread the beef strips onto the skewers.
- Heat a non-stick frying pan and fry the beef strips for two minutes.
- Drizzle the honey and sprinkle the sesame seeds over the skewers and fry for a further two minutes until glazed and cooked through.
- For the glazed chicory
- heat a frying pan until hot. Drizzle the chicory halves with the olive oil and place
- cut-side down
- in the frying pan for two minutes on each side.
- Add the balsamic vinegar to the pan and cook for a further two minutes on each side
- or until wilting.
- To serve
- place the chicory alongside the beef skewers on a serving plate and garnish with the chervil.
