SEARED BEEF TATAKI WITH STEAMED BROCCOLI AND PONZU-STYLE SAUCE
SEARED BEEF TATAKI WITH STEAMED BROCCOLI AND PONZU-STYLE SAUCE

Ingredients
  • 150g/5½oz beef fillet
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • olive oil
  • for drizzling
  • small handful Tenderstem broccoli
  • olive oil
  • for drizzling
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ lemon
  • juice only
  • pinch chilli flakes
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions
  • For the beef tataki
  • season the beef fillet with salt and freshly ground black pepper and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Heat a frying pan until smoking hot and sear the beef for 1-2 minutes on both sides. Remove from the heat and leave to rest for five minutes
  • before slicing thinly.
  • For the steamed broccoli
  • place the broccoli in a steamer over a pan of boiling water and steam for four minutes
  • or until just tender. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • For the ponzu-style sauce
  • place the lemon juice
  • chilli flakes
  • soy sauce
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper into a small bowl and whisk to combine.
  • To serve
  • place the sliced beef and broccoli onto a serving plate and pour over the ponzu sauce.
