SEARED BEEF TATAKI WITH STEAMED BROCCOLI AND PONZU-STYLE SAUCE
Ingredients
- 150g/5½oz beef fillet
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- olive oil
- for drizzling
- small handful Tenderstem broccoli
- olive oil
- for drizzling
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- ½ lemon
- juice only
- pinch chilli flakes
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions
- For the beef tataki
- season the beef fillet with salt and freshly ground black pepper and drizzle with olive oil.
- Heat a frying pan until smoking hot and sear the beef for 1-2 minutes on both sides. Remove from the heat and leave to rest for five minutes
- before slicing thinly.
- For the steamed broccoli
- place the broccoli in a steamer over a pan of boiling water and steam for four minutes
- or until just tender. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- For the ponzu-style sauce
- place the lemon juice
- chilli flakes
- soy sauce
- salt and freshly ground black pepper into a small bowl and whisk to combine.
- To serve
- place the sliced beef and broccoli onto a serving plate and pour over the ponzu sauce.
